Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I schedule an appointment with you?

You can reach me by phone at (732) 844-6873, email or via my contact page. With the exception of weekends and holidays, I typically respond to voicemails and emails within 24 hours. Following this, we will have a brief phone call to set an appointment date and time.

  • Do you offer in-person sessions, remote sessions, or both?

I offer both in-person and remote sessions, whichever is most convenient for you.

  • What can I expect in our initial session?

When you meet with me for the first time, it will be in my office in Brooklyn. The session will be an hour long. During this session, we will discuss your current reasons for seeking psychiatric treatment, your recent and remote history, and other important matters to determine whether medication management alone is appropriate, or if this should be combined with individual therapy sessions.

We will collaborate to put together the best possible treatment plan to help address your concerns. I will ask a lot of questions, and I hope you will as well.

  • Do you accept insurance in your practice?

At this time, I am only in-network for Aetna. For all other carriers, my fee is $750 for an hour long intake visit and $400 for follow-up visits.

I provide invoices for all visits for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Many insurance plans reimburse for out-of-network services. I recommend you contact your insurance company directly to discuss the percentage of reimbursement for out-of-network providers .

Payment for your session is due at the time of service. When you speak with your insurance company, inquire if you have out-of-network benefits for outpatient behavioral health services, whether you have a deductible, and what percentage of the fee is eligible for reimbursement.

  • What are the benefits of seeking treatment outside of my insurance network?

Benefits include having no restrictions on your number of sessions, the type of treatment you get, or whether or not a diagnosis must be present for your treatment to be covered.

Also important is that private pay treatment increases the level of privacy for you since the record of treatment is not shared with outside agencies.

  • What forms of payment do you accept?

I make payment as easy as possible by accepting cash, PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, all major credit cards, and personal checks.

No matter who you are, I speak your language
